About the hospital
Semashko Nizhny Novgorod Regional Clinical Hospital has been tracing its history back to 1825.
This large multi-field institution has an in-patient facility with 1266 round-the-clock beds, 56 crisis care center beds and an advisory clinic with 600 visits per shift.
There are 26 hospital-based clinical departments and 14 paraclinical diagnostic and treatment services.
Admission is organized in 31 special fields, 9 specialized centers and offices are working including a laser vison correction center, a rehabilitation center of hearing, Volga Federal District gastroenterological center, rheumatology center, regional diabetes center etc. in the regional advisory clinic.
The regional hospital is a clinical base for 14 departments of the Nizhny Novgorod Medical Academy and the Military Medical Institute of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation.
Annually, over 40 thousand patients receive inpatient specialized including high-tech medical care at the hospital. The number of surgical interventions is approximately 31 thousands.
A surgical activity is higher than 90%.
The regional advisory clinic provides services to more than 240 thousand residents of the region per year.
Nizhny Novgorod regional vascular center #2 and Nizhny Novgorod regional trauma center of the first level were opened on the base of the in-patient department. They play a significant role in the mortality decreasing from cardio-vascular conditions and severe concomitant trauma including road traffic injuries.
There are more than 400 doctors and about 800 nurses are working in the hospital. 4 doctors are Doctors of Medicine, 42 are Candidates of Medical Science.
Using of high medical technologies is a priority in the development of our institution. It has a license for 16 types of high-tech medical care.
